Page Title Tips:

• Usually best if left short ( 2 - 9 words.)
• Each page should have its own unique page title.
• Your primary keywords should be at the beginning of your page title.
• Words such as "home" or "welcome to" usually should not appear in your page title.

Meta Description Tips:

• Should be a couple short sentences to a couple paragraphs long.
• Should reinforce the keywords in the page title.
• Should typically use multiple versions of the keywords.
• Should read well as many human eyes will see it in some search results.

Meta Keywords Tips:

• Inktomi states they should be comma separated. (ex: meta tags, meta tag generator, free meta tags, free meta tag generator)
• Should consist of a couple of the main keywords used to describe that page.
• It is not used by most search engines since it is highly suceptible to spam.
• Yahoo! Search engineer Jon Glick stated that the meta keywords tag is used for inclusion within a subset of search results, and has no effect on relevancy. Use misspelled versions of your keywords & uncommon versions of ideas that are on the page using verbiage that you were not able to include in the page text.
